RG Brose receives order from Volkswagen South Africa
The series production of door systems for the new VW Polo will be commencing in spring 2003. In Brits, Brose is currently producing window regulators for the BMW 3 series, the DaimlerChrysler C-Class and the Toyota Corolla as well as door systems for the VW Golf.
With series production commencing in spring 2003, it is planned to deliver 128,000 door systems annually to the assembly line at VW in Uitenhagen.
Brose has been assembling door systems for the VW Polo in Brazil and China since the beginning of 2002. A total of approx. 1.2 million door systems are to be produced annually by the Brose Group at these three locations for the Polo car model.
The system encompasses all the functions of the door in the VW Polo; window regulator, latch system, loudspeaker, wiring harness and seal are all mounted on a base plate made of steel.
In this product segment Brose has 40% of the business, making it the worldwide market leader.
