Brose supplies doors on a just-in-sequence basis from two more plants
The Brose door system for the Ford C-MAX integrates the window regulator and door control unit as well as a multifunction bracket with the latch and window guide.
Door systems for the Ford C-MAX and Volvo V40, cars which will be presented at the International Motor Show in Frankfurt, are delivered from the international automotive suppliers new sites in Saarwellingen and Gent on a just-in-sequence basis in line with the automakers own production schedules. Brose door systems integrate window regulator, door control unit, loudspeaker, wiring harness and the complete latch module onto a carrier base plate. All functions are pre-checked and ensure the highest level of quality.
One distinguishing feature of both door systems is the multifunction bracket, which combines latch, inside actuator, outside handle, anti-theft protection, window guide, bowden mechanism and lock rod into a complete latch module. Additionally, the door system increases the rigidity of the door, providing enhanced occupant protection. Brose is therefore making a major contribution towards the safety and security of the car.
At the International Motor Show, Brose will also be presenting other innovative door systems made, for example, out of alternative materials like non-reinforced plastic as well as new drive concepts for door components.
Modular door systems based on the Brose concept of separating wet and dry areas are currently being developed worldwide for 17 brands of cars. The advantage of this innovation used in 70% of all modular door systems is that only the mechanical components of the latch and the window regulator are located in the wet area of the door. This increases functional safety and cuts costs as it eliminates the necessity of sealing electrical and electronic components.
Brose has the greatest experience in the development and production of door systems. Since production of the first door systems in 1987, more than 40 million units have been delivered on a just-in-time or just-in-sequence basis from Brose plants in Europe, America, Africa and Asia.
